🗓️ Tawang Itinerary – Detailed 5-Day Journey
Day 1: Guwahati → Dirang
Approx. 310 km | 8–9 Hours
Start your journey early from Guwahati and drive towards Arunachal Pradesh via Tezpur and Bhalukpong. Continue along the scenic mountain roads through the Kameng Valley towards Dirang.
En route, enjoy the changing landscape as the plains gradually give way to Himalayan forests and valleys. If time permits, a short stop at Tipi can be included.
Arrive in Dirang by evening, check into your hotel and relax.

Day 2: Dirang → Tawang via Sela Pass
Approx. 135 km | 6–7 Hours
After breakfast, begin one of the most spectacular drives of the journey towards Tawang.
Cross the magnificent Sela Pass, surrounded by dramatic Himalayan peaks and alpine landscapes. Continue towards Jaswant Garh War Memorial, followed by a visit to the spectacular Nuranang Waterfall (Jang Falls).
Proceed towards Tawang through winding mountain roads and reach the town by evening.
Check in to your hotel and relax after the scenic mountain drive.

Day 3: Tawang → Bum La Pass → Madhuri Lake → Tawang
After an early breakfast, set out for the high-altitude excursion towards Bum La Pass, located near the India–China border.
The route takes you through spectacular mountain terrain with stops at PT Tso Lake and Madhuri Lake (Sangetsar Lake). Continue towards Bum La, subject to the required permission, weather and road conditions.
After exploring the area, return towards Tawang.
Depending on the available time and local conditions, visit Tawang Monastery and/or other nearby attractions.
